Despite frequent discussions of "leadership" in society, the term is seldom clearly defined, and even more rarely applied to the variety of roles we are expected to fulfill. Our interdisciplinary program addresses this gap, preparing students to lead not just in their careers, but also within their homes, friendships, churches, and communities.
Accordingly, through coursework and community in the Minor in Leadership Studies, we prepare students to become leaders in all of life. Functioning as a supplemental core curriculum, the core courses help bring coherence to the disparate parts of a student's college experience. Our graduates are not only intellectually informed and technically skilled in leadership but also motivated by worthwhile purposes.
The minor is offered through the Department of Educational Leadership in the School of Education. Students must complete 18 hours of study including 9 hours of upper-level courses (more information on courses on the curriculum page.
