The Department of Educational Leadership offers graduate programs in Higher Education, K-12 leadership, and Sport Management.
PhD in Higher Education Studies & Leadership (HESL)
The PhD in Higher Education & Leadership Studies is an ideal full-time, residential program for those who desire to have a meaningful, lasting influence through a career in higher education. The program offers a blend of research, academic rigor, and hands-on professional experience to prepare scholars and practitioners for careers in leadership.

PhD in P-12 Educational Leadership
The P-12 Educational Leadership PhD is research-focused and educates scholars and scholar-practitioners who desire to have meaningful, lasting influence on P-12 education. Students entering the program can expect to be professionally challenged throughout the course sequence. The program is built on the idea that a great doctoral education stems from great mentorship. The program provides flexibility to build a course of study that will serve each student well.
EdD in K-12 Educational Leadership
The Baylor Doctor of Education (EdD) in K-12 Educational Leadership is a cohort-based practitioner-oriented doctoral program. Designed for the dedicated working education professional with weekend scheduling, the program prepares highly qualified practitioners to lead K-12 education institutions, while refining skills for executive positions in public, Christian, and private educational systems or agencies.
A master’s degree is required to apply.
MA in School Leadership
The MA in School Leadership (MASL) is dual-track master’s program in school leadership brings together emerging Christian leaders in public and independent schools. The hybrid model is designed for working K-12 educators and includes two short on-campus experiences with online course delivery.
At least two years of professional experience in public and/or independent schools is required to apply.
MSEd in Higher Education & Student Affairs (HESA)
The Master of Science in Higher Education & Student Affairs (HESA) at Baylor University balances career experience and academic rigor to prepare professionals to have a meaningful, lasting influence on students' lives in higher education settings. The HESA program is ideal for students who have shown academic excellence in undergraduate work and feel a calling to higher education, demonstrated by leadership positions during their undergraduate career.
A GPA of 3.0 or above is required to apply.
MSEd in Sport Management
The Baylor MSEd in Sport Management Program is a leading master’s degree program not only in the state of Texas, but throughout the nation. The residential program requires 36 hours of coursework and is typically completed in 22-24 months. Graduates serve in leadership roles in the sport industry in professional, intercollegiate, interscholastic, community and both for-profit and non-profit settings.
