Dr. Laurelyn Arterbury

Dr. Arterbury has been an educator for more than 20 years and began her career as a high school teacher in Round Rock ISD. She currently serves as Chief of Staff for Leander ISD (LISD), a post she has held for the past two years. She has been with LISD the past seven years and held district leadership positions including Area Superintendent for four years, Interim Chief Technology Officer for one year, and Executive Director for College and Career Pathways for one year.
Prior to working in LISD, she worked for Round Rock ISD for 16 years and served as Principal of Westwood High School for four years, Associate Principal at Stony Point High School and 9th Grade Center (SPHS-NGC) for eight years, and as a teacher and department chair at SPHS-NGC for four years.
Dr. Arterbury received her Doctor of Education degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. She earned her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of several organizations including the American Association of School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Texas Association of School Administrators, and serves as the Treasurer for Region 13’s Executive Board for the Texas Council of Women School Executives. She has two school-age children that attend New Braunfels ISD.
